I don't have Google Chrome but I have experience similar issues with regular Google Gmail and Yahoo Mail. I remember when I first signed up with Yahoo, they locked me out of my account. After several attempts, I finally had access. Perhaps it was the system being crappy that day. I can't say for sure but I don't want to experience it again.
