India win toss, they will bat. "It looks like a good hard wicket, with brown grass, not green grass," says Dhoni. Stuart Binny come in for Rohit Sharma, Jadeja is the lone spinner, while Bhuvneshwar replaces Zaheer from India's last Test XI. Alastair Cook wanted to bat first too. They include Ben Stokes for Chris Jordan.

England Team
AN Cook*, SD Robson, GS Ballance, IR Bell, JE Root, MM Ali, MJ Prior†, BA Stokes, SCJ Broad, LE Plunkett, JM Anderson
India Team
M Vijay, S Dhawan, CA Pujara, V Kohli, AM Rahane, RA Jadeja, MS Dhoni*†, STR Binny, B Kumar, I Sharma, Mohammed Shami

Fifteen minutes for the start..!!

Looks like Vijay is toying with Anderson,3 boundaries in a row..Too early to call so,but yeah quite happy at least vijay is striking the ball.

0.5 Anderson to Vijay, FOUR,
that's a gift to any Indian batsman! Anderson serves up a full delivery on that pads and Vijay whips it with ease to make it three boundaries in a row

0.4 Anderson to Vijay, FOUR, another one through the same region, this one is better controlled from the batsman. He comes forward and guides this through fourth slip area. Anderson won't mind this

0.3 Anderson to Vijay, FOUR, looks to leave this one, but he is late in pulling the bat out, fortunately for the batsman, the ball takes an underedge and skids past the third slip fielder for first runs

Dhawan is out and Pujara is in. I hope Pujara to play a long innings.  India 34/1 in 8.1 overs.

#4
Good first session by India.

I see no reason why India cannot bat all day and late into tomorrow.

#5
WTF - India go to lunch nicely placed and now I see that 2 more gone.

I though Kohli woulda bat all day

India 134/3 (48.4 ov)

150 comes up for Team India. India 150/3 in 52.1 overs against England. Vijay 80*, Rahane 17*

Team India?

Wha happen to just India without the "Team".

#9
India not making best use of this pitch. Nothing less than 450 will suffice.

Man throw his wicket away.
