Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has tied the knot with a 20-year old girl from Haripur in the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa province. Duniya TV channel reported that Akhtar married Rubab in a quiet nikah ceremony in Haripur.
“The haq mahar has been kept at half a million rupees and Akhtar’s parents attended the simple nikah ceremony,†the report said.
Initially Akhtar had denied reports that he was getting married to a girl chosen by his parents. A source close to Akhtar, 38, confirmed to PTI that the fast bowler and his family had visited the girl’s residence on June 12 where both families agreed on the wedding date.
Well I just hope that it's true that she's 20+ years old. Either way "arranged marriage" with 20 year old and Shoaib huh? No comments and hope they have a good married life.
Something named haq mehr was given off in the marriage it seems,after some googling found that it was nothing but dowry,insane people.Still accepting dowry from a bride.5,00,000 in INR.
That apart,hope he doesn't be fiery on this 20 year old as he was during his cricketing career.

You do know that in Islam, Mehr = something that's given to bride, unlike "dowry system"? It's complicated, and I don't want to discuss religion here of course, but yeah.
There were initial reports of the bride being 17 years or something, but Shoaib denies this. I don't know, I guess benefit of doubt goes to him, but still 20 year old kid? I don't know man.

I never knew about it earlier,i had to check up google.There is this dowry everywhere.I am a Hindu lad and do not know about their customs,but yeah,just telling,even i don't want to bring in religion here.
