one time almost the identical situation..england fist innings lead..Lanka bowled them out cheaply in second...and rushed to an improbable victory with Sanath Jaya doing considerable damage with the bat

That makes sense to me so I could not see why Krish was suggesting we were being negative.


I also remember Sobers declaring at QPO only for India to win.


I thought that was a sporting declaration which could have worked for Sobers.


In this current game, our overnight score is good enough for Lanka's strong lineup to contemplate victory so would not close shop from the start. Also with uneven bounce on a fifth day inserting the Lankans first thing could lead to a victory for us.
