But where are the young pacers? Gabriel and Cottrell have talent but are not really progressing. How is Beaton getting on? Why does Holder only bowl at 80mph despite his frame, what happened to Cummins this year? When fit Roach and Taylor remain the best new ball pair. Combine that with Narine and Shillingford/Miller/Benn and its a decent attack.

our young pacers are not ready as yet. no use we fool ourselves. they have to show fitness, discipline, consistency, along with the skill over a period to be taken seriously . beaton was never a serious contender for windies

West Indies has had a dip in its talent pool.Yes,most of them are turning out to be medium pacers.I remember Holder bowling at 140 odd in the IPL last year, but maybe he has lost out on his fitness quotient.I haven't heard of Roach and jerome for the past 4 months or so.They need to stay fit in order to bowl fast. They are following the footsteps of Indian bowlers..Up the ante windies..!!

Despite the HPC and Gibson being a "bowling coach" the WI seem unable to help young fast bowlers make the transition from first class to test cricket.

But the blame does not lie with solely with the HPC and Gibson since the various countries should have coaches capable of guiding the youngsters.

Insularity is the poison.

There is NO reason that Santokie and Delorn should not be on a retainer Contract !

Left Hand Quicks  are being gobbled up by all successful Boards  Sad

The whole issue of retainer contracts is like a can of worms - it's very hard to understand what is going on.

In mid January this was announced:
Quote:List of men’s players on Central Retainer
Contracts 2013-2014 (with category)
Dwayne Bravo (A)
Shiv Chanderpaul (A)
Chris Gayle (A)
Sunil Narine (A)
Darren Sammy (A)
Marlon Samuels (A)
Kemar Roach (B)
Tino Best ©
Darren Bravo ©
Johnson Charles ©
Kirk Edwards ©
Kieran Powell ©
Denesh Ramdin ©
Ravi Rampaul ©Shane Shillingford (C

Samuels has an A contract, Best still there, Charles there. The list is fcuked up.

I posted that to show that Santokie and Delorn Johnson appears "well coached":

in their Country !

Their Selection however, is a Board issue....

repeat : Lefties are being gobbled up by successful Boards !

most are wreaking Havoc !
