What's wrong with Pollard? Doesn't he deserve a chance? He's untested at test level, but has shown on several occasions in ODI's that he's willing to settle down and build an innings if the situation requires it. At first class level, where he can be compared, his average (38.40) is better than Brathwaite (37.83) and Powell (34.43), and marginally less then lil' Bravo (38.78). He has 4 tons and 7 half tons at this level as well, with a high score of 174 and over 1500 runs scored in total.
I'm not saying he'll definitely be a success, but the tendency to pigeon hole Pollard into t20 is wrong. Pollard is one of the most professional (in all sense of the word) player in the W.I. He'll play the role assigned to him, and will always be ultra competitive and give it his all. I would think that's the type of player we want to encourage.
