Hmmm Gayle has not done much of anything against anyone this World Champs!

#4
Gayle has 143 runs ....no one else close  Tongue

#5
143 runs is pathetic considering the average, strike rate and balls faced.

#6
143 runs is on the Tins.

Smith comes closest at 125 ...

Bravo at 103.

RUNS win Matches.... Tongue

Openers accumulate runs and fool people into thinking their stats are good. Tendulkar fools people in the same way in ODIs, when his average is actually 35 outside India and not vs minnows. All Smith's WC runs came in the Bangladesh game. Aside from Sammy and Dwayne, our batsmen havent been batting at over a run a ball.

Gayle to me was a conundrum .... as not in form.  Leave him as opener or move him down the order. :-\

If moved down the order ... still there was the problem of him not running singles and two's because of his inability ...... or mobility reluctance to do ...and if teamed with liability Elegance ... Oh well !!  Sad
