Mystery spinner Sunil Narine has been given a precautionary rest for the second match of the West Indies versus England T20 series which will be played from 2 pm today at Kensington Oval, Barbados.
Narine slipped while fielding in the first match and went off the field after bowling two overs.
Yesterday he was scheduled to have a scan done on his leg but team management decided against it as he was moving about easily at the team’s hotel Acca Beach. However, with the World T20 in mind, the selectors decided to rest him today.

Sunil Naraine is one of the most important players for the West Indies cricket team. And he becomes all the more important considering that the T20 world cup is just around the corner and that his record in that format of the game is nothing short of exemplary. So, in my opinion, the management of the west indies cricket team has taken the correct decision by resting him in this game.
Ramdin is right. We need to make a strong statement going into the WC by winning the other two remaining games.
After all, we are the champions and should play like a championship team. Don't get complacent and let them of the hook...Go for the jugular early 'o' clock.
But wait Narine nah play and West Indies win - lawd ha mercy.
Anyone who actually saw the first game and what happened to Narine will realize that the WI made the correct decision in NOt playing Narine in game #2.
In fact I would also rest him for game #3 - bring in Bishoo (to mek Guyanans happy)
