WINDIES STAR Shivnarine Chanderpaul will take to the field in a special game at Lord’s to commemorate the famous ground’s bicentenary.

The West Indies batsman, who plays his club cricket for Derbyshire, is the latest top player to be confirmed for the event scheduled for July 5.

Chanderpaul will join the likes of Paul Collingwood, Yuvraj Singh and Virender Sehwag for the MCC v Rest of the World match.

The MCC XI will be skippered by Sachin Tendulkar, who will lead his side against a Rest of the World team captained by Australia legend Shane Warne.

MCC president Mike Gatting said: “With cricketers from England, West Indies, Australia and India now on board for this historic match, it helps to demonstrate the standing both Lord's Cricket Ground and MCC have throughout the cricketing world.”

Chanderpaul is able to play in the exhibition fixture due to it taking place on a day when Derbyshire have no game.
