50+ Killed in New Ukraine Violence
Hours after Ukraine’s President Viktor Yanukovych announced a truce on Thursday, Kiev broke into more lethal violence. At least 20 protesters have died in gunfire that opened in Kiev’s Independence Square, as well as one police officer, the interior minister said. Since Tuesday, over 50 people have been killed in the Ukrainian protests. More than half of the Ukrainian Olympic team has also left Sochi to protest Russia's role in creating the political tensions that led to the violent protests.
