Don't knock the messenger Dujon.
He was stating the obvious regarding Chanderpaul, The desperation of him and his not out quest was plain to see.
Dujon is not stating anything different that I didn't point out on this forum before
Lads for me my views are purely Cricketing as you know I am not a great Shiv fan but I respect his tenacity, industriousness and achievements.
This issue transcends ethnicity or anything as or equally trivial.
Shiv's rate is steady and most successful team have a chap who is steady and can bat through. If Shiv was so adamant to score a ton he would have done so. Anyone of us who have played this glorious game would want to score a ton, especially in the 70s!
Shiv with his opening partner laid a very good foundation and that is what is required. There has to be some thought in constructing innings.
I had previously pointed out Samuels' poor ODI average and a SR of 73 compared to Shiv's 71.
Far too often in West Indies cricket, batsmen smash a quick 30 and before you know it, number 6 is in at 100-4 and we know what happens after that.
Shiv is not the only player in the team or is he?
Most teams would really want a man that steadies it and around whom the others can play their games.
