WIBC frantic as ICC threatens Windies Test status

ST JOHN’S, Antigua -- The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has called an emergency meeting to discuss proposed changes to the International Cricket Council (ICC) which some officials in the region believe could have devastating consequences for West Indies cricket.

The proposed changes are contained in a working paper for a revamped ICC which will come before members as early as the quarterly meeting in Dubai on January 28 and 29.

According to reports the proposed changes, among other things, could see West Indies relegated to second tier in a two-tier cricket ranking.

A WICB release says the Board of Directors met by teleconference and discussed the issue on Monday and will reconvene, again by teleconference, on Wednesday to continue the discussion.

Damn I was way ahead of the ICC, since I've been calling for this two tiered structure years now

WasteIndies have proven for years that they do not belong with the top test squads. They've made no efforts to develop the necessary talent to compete nor measures to improve their squads year in and year out
