Allan Donald was very fast and as vicious as I have seen.
He was very athletic and fierce to face from all accounts.
Steyn also fit fast and angry faced. Johnson was clocking 90+ in the recent ashes series, very athletically built young man.
I think one has to have the balance of pace and mental agility to work batsmen out.
Darren Powell, Fidel Edwards and Tino Best are all very fast but their record cannot stand up perhaps due to lack of thinking.
Larwood was very fast as was John Snow, Trueman, Thompson etc.
Pakistani Cricketers always seem very athletic and have had fantastic bowlers but they seem able to move the ball, get reverse swing and work out batsmen.

Something to be learnt there.
The Westindians of days gone by and I mean the Sobers Loyds, Kanhai's , Richards , Kali, Fredricks . Haynes , Greenidge et all would have dealt with them with disdain.
I would not say with disdain but I think they would have shaped up well.
All of the guys you mentioned were class and the diminutive Fredricks was a fearless player. Talking about him did he not step onto his stumps in hooking a 6 in the 74 world cup?
Roy Fredricks was a tremendous cricketer that always seemed to be overlooked.
