.... Will Barbadians be proud of Jordan if he returns to his home island as an England player on their one-day tour at the end of February?  ‘I’m not entirely sure how I’ll be received and will have to wait until I get there, if I get there,’ said Jordan in his soft Barbadian accent.....‘A lot of my family are still based there and I get loads of support from them all year round. So I know they will be backing me.’

Jordan has qualified for England through residency and his English mother and I can vouch that he was adamant he wanted to play for England rather than West Indies as early as 2007 when I interviewed him at the behest of Surrey coach Nadeem Shahid, who enthused about his protege’s ability. Now he looks decidedly quick, is a more than decent lower-order batsman and an agile fielder.
