I advocated him giving up ODIs but not the manner in which it was done, unceremoniously, but in keeping with the WICB. I recall how many other greats were treated when they exited.

There is no genuine case to exclude Shiv based on results and his form, based on Rev's numbers.

However if he plays, which he never will, he has to open with a view of batting through.

Charles is another Fletcher for me and I have coined the Fletchership to refer to inexplicable faith being kept with absolute crap players.

He is almost 40 and he is taking a place on the team that would have gone to a youngster

Provide me the name of a youngster that can occupy the crease :

and get an ODI or T20 win.

Evidence must show crease occupation for over 20 overs in an ODI.

I am waiting...

OBSERVATION:

* Shiv had one poor year in his last 5 years and he was sent packing by Gibson and the selectors.

* They were dying for Shiv to fail---and they got their wish in 2011

* They are also dying for Shiv to fail in tests so that they could force him out.

Right now Shiv is better than most of the pretenders in the WI oneday team----but coach Gibson and the selectors are full of hatred and malice and wont bring Shiv back into the one day team.
