21-year-old opener Kraigg Brathwaite will lead the side in the regional four-day first-class championship

Why burden him with such a responsibility when he is trying to find his way?

Thoughts?

Again it is so silly.

Kirk Edwards was the recent Captain for the A team wins.

He is now in the run for the WI XI ...VC or Captaincy.

Why not give him his Island leadership ??ย

i tell alyuh.ย  deh want to kill west indies cricket.ย  sabotage at every level

#5
It happened in Guyana , happening in TnT :

and now Barbados....

Jamaica has no contenders for future WI Captaincy...

#6
the young guy has talent. He is being given leadership. He is windies future.

#7
I totally disagree as he is struggling to make his way.

I agree he is talented but not all talented people are capable of leading.

I agree he is talented and I agree you do not have to be the best player to be a leader but this lad has potential of a long term career and if anything he needs to learn the art of leadership perhaps as VC not Captain. Right now he needs to focus on his batting.

His failing thus far is his inability to rotate the strike, hence his very poor strike rate, especially at international cricket.

Would I have him in my team? Yes.

But I would expect him to bat to the death without having to worry about the entire team at 21.

#8
well lets give him a chance to see if he performs under pressure.

#9
Ok you can but all can learn from what the Essex Coach said about his young protege being mooted to be considered for a Test call up.

Let lads learn their trade.

There is a calmness about KB but he needs to focus on his game.

He reminds me of Sir Frank in demeanour but in my view he is being burdened and if he is smart enough he will reject the offer.

more importantly . we should question the removal of kirk edwards...
