I fully endorse your conclusion , Rev

What irks me even more is that I am Guyanese and so is Butts...

ketchy:

* Every man looks out for himself.

* Butts received pressure from Ernest Hillaire---then CEO of WICB.

* So Butts agreed to the dropping of Shiv after the 2011 world cup.

* They also wanted Shiv dropped in tests.

* But Jagdeo and Chetty made noise and threats.

* So Shiv was spared in tests.

* But now all the young players are failing.

* Shiv has become the #2 test player in the world.

* But Otis and Butts are embarrassed to bring back Shiv for the onedayers.

Shiv says WI selectors are afraid to pick him for the oneday team because he may embarrass them with a hundred.

* Let's take a look at the slackers who are being picked ahead of Shiv by the spiteful coach and selectors:

AVERAGE------PLAYER-----STRIKE RATE

31.58-------Simmons(71.70)
31.21-------Samuels(72.79)
28.89-------Charles(80.96)
26.20-------Deonarine(68.96)

---------------------------------
41.60-------Chanderpaul(70.74)

In fairness - these players are young and they're being groomed in, as they should be. So direct comparison based on mere stats is unfair.

However, that doesn't excuse not picking Shiv. That's just bullshit. If anything they youngsters could play around him and grow in confidence. They need a senior player and who can properly anchor the innings. Now it's all just gamble.

Shiv Chanderpaul should write an open letter demanding reinstatement to the  one day team .
The west indies cricket establishment hand would then be forced respond to publicly  to his request .
They would have to publicly state the reasons for  his non inclusion.
What can they do to Shiv now ?,
He can have them on the run .

Correct is right ... unfortunately the clueless selectors don't have the foresight to envisage this ....... Sad
