i believe that Sobers played one series under Kanhai and then retired  Kanhai soon followed .
Clive Loyd then became the boss and like they say the rest is history

Kwami.  Kanhai had no choice but to retire.  He had one bad series with the bat and even though the series was drawn, he was left out of the team selected to tour India.  Burnham worked his magic! !
