*Precedent is in Shiv's favor.

* He can emulate his fellow Guyanese Lloyd and Gibbs and play into his 40s

* And like Lloyd he can be productive all the way to the end.

There are no fitness issues and he still looks very spiritedly in the field so cannot see why he should not go on win the appetite he seems to have.

My be is that he is good for the team's stability and whatever records follow is bonus.

I really do think he should have some ODIs.

Had shiv failed ink this series, he may not have gone to England but he has now booked his spot.

I seem to recall he has a very good record against the English, is that correct?

Thanks Rev..Interesting stats indeed. Do we have a list of detractors eating crow and hating on the great manSmile miserable bastards them. They refuse to appreciate the greatness of Shiv. I can't wait for him to pass Lara on the way to 12k runs.

Babulall:

* Shiv's new goal is to equal Don Bradman's 6 hundreds scored after age 39.

* Shiv needs 5 more hundreds to equal Bradman's 6 100s after age 39.

* Once Shiv equals Bradman's feat---he will then tie with the great Lara----34 test hundreds.

* SHIV = BRADMAN = LARAย  ;D hahahaha

* One batsman in history has scored a triple hundred after age 39---Sandham(325)

* 8 batsmen have scored 200+ after age 39.

* Gordon Greenidge scored 226 after age 39.

WHO WAS THE LAST BATSMAN TO SCORE A DOUBLE CENTURY AFTER AGE 39 ?

[Image: images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTfzG8caBbQrwTeAzmCXhY...57HOVYY8fi]

* Do you recognize him ?

* It was accomplished in June 1994

* And the batsman was Graham Gooch---he scored 210 vs NZ at TrentBridge in June 1994.

* 1994 was the year Shiv debuted.

* By the way, if Shiv scores another double hundred in 214 versus Bangladesh---he will be the 9th batsman in history to record a double hundred after age 39.

SACHIN TENDULKAR AFTER AGE 39

[Image: 135995562-838545.jpg]

* Sachin Tendulkar played 12 tests after age 39. He scored 451 runs and averaged a paltry 26.52 with 0 hundreds and 3 50s

* The period after age 39 was unkind to Sachin.
