RAMDIN PRAISES THE LEGEND

Quote:"It's a little more relaxed now," Ramdin said of the dressing-room feeling after the fightback. "We were under some pressure, first day of a Test match and 80-odd for five. We needed a partnership. The legend, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, guided me through that period. I had a couple of chances, he just told me to tighten up and keep going. We worked in little partnerships. I enjoy batting with him and I guess today is an even day."

* No question Ramdin has matured.

* Marriage has been good for him and his cricket.

* And the numbers don't lie---in the past 2 years Ramdin has averaged 45+ with 3 hundreds and 3 fifties.

A combination of being dropped, being verbally abused by Viv, a sterm Indian wife and lots of T20 games, both regionally and abroad, have forced Ramdin to improve and mature.

We need to drop Powell and find him a wife too.

Marlon married? We need to find him a bride or boyfriend.

A CLOSER LOOK AT RAMDIN'S 107

* He scored 107 in 148---that's an amazing strike rate of 72.29

* He hit 18 boundaries

* He was not afraid to take risk

* Sure he got lucky---was dropped twice---but that's part of the game---he was unlucky in the 2nd test---caught by a stunning catch by Boult----re rode his luck at Wellington.
