Darren Sammy blames bowlers for poor performances

The West Indian Test skipper Darren Sammy felt that his seamers failed to exploit favourable conditions against New Zealand in the first two Tests of the three-match series. West Indies suffered a huge defeat by an innings and 73 runs in the second Test at Wellington.

West Indies captain Darren Sammy has lamented the failure of his seamers to exploit favourable bowling conditions against New Zealand in the first and second test matches of their current three match series.

The West Indies bowling has been insipid. The pacers lack the basic ability of bowling even reasonably straight. But the batsmen are to be blamed too. Many lack patience and are ill-equipped to play anything but a ball coming to them gun-barrel straight. We seem to be going backwards.

The Captain should consider the robustness of his decision to continually win the toss and insert the opposition instead of blaming.

It is interestingly strange that the West Indian bowlers, with their coaching staff, are unable to learn how to swing the ball and get movement from a better seam position.

The decision to insert the opposition suggest there is no fate in the batting lineup in which case the goal is to fight to draw each game.

Every Tom, Dick and Harry can score runs when the foundation has been set, like the second innings of the first test, but when there is the requirement to apply oneself, there seems a big void.

Sometimes the best personnell do not work in some environments and in such cases you mitigate your loss and make changes rather than compounding the issues.

Soon, it is reasonable to expect the departure of Chanderpaul, Gayle and Samuels so this leaves a big hole in this team.

Apart from Taylor, Rampaul swings the ball and he has been excluded.

Or is he? What exactly is he doing? Is he a batting allrounder or bowling allrounder? I'm inclined towards freeloading git at the moment.
To his credit, he did actually bowl a top ball to McCullum - and that 50 odd in the draw. That's all I can think of.
