* After 25 tests, the great Lara averaged 55.68--and had already scored 375--in his 16th test.
* Now! It is true that Bravo has a healthy 42.65 test average after 25 tests
* But Darren Bravo has averaged only 31.20 in 12 tests with 1 hundred in the past 2 years
THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE FOLKS!
There is something not right with young Bravo ? What is it ? The man is struggling. How can the WI #3 batsman average only 31.20 in the past 2 years ?
[i]Rev ... Everyone hoped for great things for Lil Lara but I firmly believe that all the early similarities and comparisons made with him and BCL went to his head ....

Cal:
That's the problem with many of the young WI players today---not just Bravo---once they make it into the West Indies team they feel like they have arrived----the money is excellent----they can afford many of the material things they want----and they lose focus on their game----the hard work and dedication and commitment needed to propel their careers is just not there----and the result is a remarkable talent like Darren Bravo averaging 31.20 over the last 2 calendar years.
. COMPLACENCY IS FATAL TO PROGRESS
Actually Darren Bravo got 3 good starts against India in the recent series----he just didn't carry on----hopefully he will carry on against #8 ranked New Zealand.

He is not a number 3 bat at this time , he has problems being an opening bat facing
the rising ball.

* Bravo is not a #3 batsman at this time you say ?
* Well, at #4 he averages only 1 point higher than at #3
* It looks like you are making excuses for Bravo.
BOTTOM LINE:
Bravo is an over hyped batsman---he doesn't even average 40 in first class----that tells you a lot about his true caliber.
He had an excellent start in test cricket---averaging 68 in his first series against SL----then when he toured India in 2011 he averaged 67 with 2 hundreds.
But since that Indian series in 2011---these are Bravo's series averages:
Bravo will not do well in NZ , the conditions will not be comfy for him unfortunately.
