When Sachin Tendulkar retires after the 2 test series against the West Indies later this month---Shiv Chanderpaul will become the most experienced international cricketer in the world. Shiv started playing tests in March 1994----that's 19yrs 8months and counting.

WHAT A REMARKABLE CRICKETER!

* Shiv has played in more tests(148) than any other WI cricketer

* Shiv(51.62 avg) will be the first Guyanese to average 50+ in test cricket.

* Only 5 batsmen in history have had more scores over fifty in tests than Shiv(89 scores over 50)

* Only 7 batsmen in history have scored more runs than Shiv(10830)

GIVE PRAISE TO THE GREAT MAN!

No more loyal and dedicated cricketer has ever represented the West Indies than Shiv Chanderpaul.

Om Namah Shiva!

Rev, would Shiv be able to break his coach's record at Eden Garden?  Rohan has the hightest West Indian score there.    After it will be a flat track, designed for runs!

Shiv needs 170 runs to reach 11,000 in tests.

He should knock that off in the 2 tests against India.

The tracks for the 2 tests are being prepared to benefit the great Sachin----but the Maximum Leader also loves flat tracks----hopefully he will fill his boots----he first needs 170----then he can set his sights on RBK 256.

There is no question the great man's style is ugly and crabbie  and his scoring rate is pedestrian, but no one with a functioning brain can deny that when it comes to production and productivity Shiv Chanderpaul has delivered the goods with remarkable consistency during his long and illustrious career. And the bottom line when you are a batsman is the runs you score not how you score those runs.

Rev ,

I am not speaking of stats , there are incidentals.
West Indians are known as Flashy , Flamboyant,Innovative stroke makers ,Calypso Cricket  etc...
we justify and made exciting cricket to the masses of this world and are the
second most followed team .

You see Rev , it wasn't based on poke and blocking   ;D

Soca:

SHIV IS GUYANESE. HE IS NOT A WEST INDIAN.   Big Grin

By the way, other than Viv Richards, how many flashy and flamboyant West Indians have scored a 69 ball test hundred ?

That 69 ball test hundred is today the 4th fastest hundred in test cricket.
