Rev, 2 good innings by Kirk and Shiv is history!!!!  mark my words!

Well, if Shiv performs as ordinarily as he did playing for Derbyshire in 2013---in 15 matches with Derby, Shiv averaged only 38 with 1 hundred and 7 fifties---if Shiv performs like that playing for the West Indies----then the door will be shut in his face.

IT IS CALLED HIGHER STANDARDS.

If a Kirk Edwards can average 38----he is set for life.

But not a player like the great man.

HOPEFULLY SHIV HAS 1500 TEST RUNS AND 6 TEST HUNDREDS LEFT IN HIM.

It might have been easier for Shiv to help to mold a team around him if he were the captain.  But sadly he didn't want the job.  He just wanted to concentrate on his batting.

Shiv made the wise decision to relinquish the captaincy in March 2006 and focus on his batting.

SINCE SHIV RESIGNED THE CAPTAINCY IN MARCH 2006----These are his stats:

Tests: 54
Runs: 4600
Average: 65.71
100s: 14
50s: 26

THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE!
