A very good player and statistically 2008-09 he had good Test averages of 47 and 61 respectively (6 hundreds and 5 fifties), disappeared in 2010 and after his return in 2011, only had 4 tests, vanished.

Sarwan also seems a sound ODI player with a very good average and he is no where to be seen.

Quite tragic really when you consider West indies performances one might think he would be featured somehow.

I am unsure whether the West indies can really do without a guy like Sarwan? Perhaps his domestic season was rubbish.

* Sarwan played 4 tests in 2011----2 versus Pakistan---2 versus India---he scored 83 runs--- and averaged 10.77

* Sarwan did not play in 2012 or 2013

* Looks like Sars is cooked and done as far as the WI selectors are concerned.

I can clearly see some talented players but, if I had to put my neck out, I would say Sarwan is your best batsman available. Ok I am thinking of the Sarwan I saw pre 2012.

* You mean the Sarwan pre-2011

* remember in 2011 he averaged 10.77 in 4 tests

* In 2008 Sars averaged 46.62 and in 2009 he averaged 60.71

* But he is being judged by what he has done recently.

* And in his last year playing tests---2011----he failed miserably.

Apologies, yes.

Will this cap make a return?

* Sarwan will not make a return based on past perfomance or past reputation---pre 2011.

* He will make a return if he goes out there and dominate the 4 day competition in 2014---score a couple of hundreds and average 50+

* His future is in his hands---make that his bat. ;D

Good points, Babuji.

In addition, Sars need to take a few pages out the Tiger's book and practice hard.  Spend days out in the field batting but do in under the guidance of this man!
