David Warner refused to answer any questions directly referring to the ball-tampering scandal, saying it had been a "tough and emotional time".
The opening batsman took to Twitter on Thursday morning to apologise for the part he played in the saga after receiving a 12-month suspension from Cricket Australia - ruling him out of all top-level cricket in Australia.
Accompanied by his wife and two young children at Sydney airport, he addressed the press: "As you can understand it's been a tough and emotional time for my wife and my kids at this present time.
