With the current woes on the sea bridge between Trinidad and Tobago, coupled with a shaky air bridge which leaves Tobagonians and travellers alike marooned on a day to day basis, former Scotiabank managing director Richard Young says a bridge linking Toco to Tobago should be seriously considered and can be done without putting the country in debt.

Kamla Persad-Bissessar had suggested that a suspension bridge could be built from Toco to Tobago, but then Opposition Leader Dr Keith Rowley had countered that no amount of money in the western hemisphere and no engineering known to man could pay for or build such a bridge.

Toco is the most northeasterly village on the island of Trinidad in the County of Saint David at the point where the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean meet. Tobago lies only some 35 kilometers to the northeast which renders Toco the closest point in Trinidad to the sister island.

dats exactly right. deh need to develop the place outside the big towns. so make another big town in Toco... by building a port connection between the 2 islands and set up a ferry there to handle the transport load.
then build access roads and a highway straight to port of spain..that branches south to Sando, Point etc
that would give a rise to the east coast, set up Toco to expand into a big town, a real port city
how come deh ent do dat yet?
deh musta farm out their thinking for others to do at a price
