(Reuters) - A man with a pistol fatally shot three people on Friday in rural western Pennsylvania, one of them in a church, before he was killed in a shootout with state troopers as he tried to flee in a pickup truck, authorities said.
Three state troopers also were injured in their confrontation with the gunman in Frankstown Township, about 100 miles east of Pittsburgh, shortly after 9 a.m. EST (1400 GMT), state police said.
THE DOCTOR who was found guilty of administering a drug that killed the King of Pop Michael Jackson in 2009 could be released from prison should his appeal prove to be successful.
Jackson’s doctor Conrad Murray was sentenced to four year in prison after giving the superstar a fatal dose of propofol.
However, Murray – who was charged with involuntary manslaughter – could be out of prison before the New Year.
His defence team made an appeal against the conviction and have requested to a Californian appeals court for him to be released.
The Californian Second District Court of Appeals received a motion for Murray to be "released on his own recognisance pending appeal, or alternatively, that (the court) order his release on reasonable bail".
Murray previously had his bail request denied in February. He is scheduled to be released on October 28, 2013.
