So what do you think...is there some kind of freaky zombie virus being passed around or are all of these reports about people eating other people's flesh just a coincedence? I honestly don't know what is happening, but there sure do seem to be a lot of stories popping up about this!

But the federal government is now telling us there is nothing to worry about.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention spokesman David Daigle last week wrote an email to The Huffington Post telling the news agency, "CDC does not know of a virus or condition that would reanimate the dead (or one that would present zombie-like symptoms)."
Well that's a relief.

But if you're not fully convinced, you can head over to the CDC's website and check out their 'Zombie Preparedness' page. Yes, it exists.

The CDC has taken a tongue-in-cheek approach to the zombie news with a zombie blog, posters, and the comic novella, 'Preparedness 101: Zombie Pandemic' that you can view online.
Online readers have been eagerly munching away at zombie-related news coming out of Florida, other states, and Canada. The term 'zombie apocalypse' has trended on Google multiple times. Today it's at No. 19.
