The Indian Arrival Committee has expressed concern about the death of 20 year old, Chitrawattie Ramjiwan of Cotton Tree, West Coast Berbice.
She died while being transported from one public medical facility to another, just after giving birth. The IAC is calling on authorities to launch an investigation into Ramjiwan’s death and implement measures to ensure such incidents do not recur.
While the circumstances are yet to be determined, the IAC is demanding that those tasked with providing care to maternal patients, be tolerant and sensitive to their needs.
