Ali, performing 'ball boy' duties during the Guyana Amazon Warriors vs St. Lucia Kings game on Wednesday evening at Providence, took a spectacular one-handed catch beyond the boundary.

Following his spectacular one-handed catch during Wednesday eveningโs CPL T20 match between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and Saint Lucia Kings at Providence, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, the Hon. Steven Jacobs, M.P., met with 15-year-old Wazim Ali and his mother, Sumintra Ali.
Wazim, a member of the Malteenoes Sports Club, has already made his mark with his impressive talent and determination. The connection is especially meaningful, as Minister Jacobs serves as Vice President of the Malteenoes Sports Club, the very club where he himself began his cricketing career.
On behalf of His Excellency, President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, the Minister presented Wazim with cricket gear and Guyana Amazon Warriors polos, recognising the young leg-spinner whose incredible catch has captured the attention of cricket fans across Guyana.
Minister Jacobs also encouraged Wazim to remain focused on his education, continue supporting his mother and making her proud, and to remember that discipline is key to success.
