The 38-year-old Trinidad-born rapper urged followers to “pray on it” and “make sure you’re comfortable” with the decision to take or refuse the experimental drug. For herself, Minaj said she was doing her own research before she decided whether to get the jab.

The obviously “irresponsible” comments advocating personal autonomy and due diligence set off a firestorm of frenzied media attention.

MSNBC’s Joy Reid expressed the views of many in the mainstream press when she slammed Minaj for her tweet in a now-viral segment. During her diatribe, Reid trotted out old accusations that Minaj and others who question the shots are killing people by encouraging them to make their own medical decisions.

Never one to pass up using the race card, Reid added that she was “so sad” that a woman of color would steer people in “our community” away from getting the shot, and jeered when Minaj retweeted a clip of Fox News’ Tucker Carlson (a far-right “white supremacist,” of course) backing the pop star’s message.

Minaj refused to back down, defending herself for standing on the same side as Carlson on at least this one issue, while throwing the race card back at Reid.

But the primary takeaway from the Nicki Minaj dust-up is not so much what Minaj said, or the spicy back-and-forths traded with Reid via Twitter.

The real story is that the media and the political establishment have once again shown their hand.

The point is that in today’s culture, race is just a stand-in for politics, and vaccine acceptance versus refusal is not “black and white.”

Nicki Minaj slams MSNBC’s Joy Reid in COVID vaccine firestorm

Nicki Minaj is unleashing on MSNBC’s Joy Reid for being “so thirsty to down another black woman,” after the TV host lectured the rapper for her COVID-19 vaccine skepticism.

Minaj’s expletive-laden rant against Reid was posted to Twitter Monday night after the rap star wrote about her hesitancy to get the shot amid Met Gala requiring proof of vaccination.

“They want you to get vaccinated for the Met. If I get vaccinated it won’t for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now. In the meantime my loves, be safe. Wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one,” Minaj tweeted.

What is there about Nicki Minaj not to like! Not to love?

Minaj is magnificently human, totally human! Properly subjective of mind as we are all born capable of defending herself and speaking her mind positively in the public, when she thinks it is necessary to do so, risking the dangers in such activity comparative to the value of what she said.

The value of what Minaj said outweighs the apparent danger in her speaking out and she took the risk! Bully to her and she at least has my support...100% of it!

On Joy Reid! Who herself is woman of color?

Covid is not a basic issue of skin color and ethnicity save in angular and minute ways. Reid apparently has been tasked to turn it into a racial issue to minimise, dilute and misdirect the significant but truthful impact of what Minaj said on the dangerous vaccines

Of course Reid is a media personality and no one becomes a media personality for the big media without being Tom and Thomasina, totally controlled people wo must do as they are told. Reid made her choice and sold her soul. Minaj has not sold her soul, is her own person not a sellout! I know the story of Minaj's personal life that is in the public. I am familiar with that kind of life having come out of similar myself.

I understand Nicki's life to the extent that I see it, know that kind of life what she has been through growing up. and Nicki has the rebellious personality that matches that growth experience and I love her for it. Nicki Minaj is perfect, talented, beautiful and her success is earned and justified. Minaj is owned by no one!

To encourage more people to get vaccinated, the government of Dominica has decided to offer exciting prizes to lucky winners.

According to WIC News, a special camp was setup at Mahaut Market on Saturday and residents who will have their jabs there will get the chance to win mobile phones, passes for exotic resorts and more.

Rayburn Blackmoore, the current Minister for Justice, Immigration and National Security, said people would get an opportunity to win the following prizes:

Three vaccines are currently available in Dominica and these are Astrazeneca, Sinopharm, and Pfizer.

I do not agree! the vaccines are from 20-21 years ago tried for another purpose and failed with seriously bad effects on human bodies
