Former Guyana youth fast-bowler Joshua Jones is putting in the hard yards of work to break into the Guyana Jaguars academy set-up. The big Essequibian who is in the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) is confident of balancing work and playing the game he loves.
He indicated that he is training four days weekly, and he trains three times on these days. Jones, one his best days can rush batsmen while hitting the pitch hard. In his last Under-19 tournament, he had the most wickets for Guyana in 2018, where he claimed 14 wickets in five games.
The right-arm speedster who will trun 22 in October, also had good outings in senior local cricket. Playing for the strong Essequibo outfit at the franchise level, Jones had 10 wickets in a season, with his best bowling figure being 5-18 against West Demerara, including a hat trick in 2019.
