Pooran's 77 was, in the words of almost everyone who showered praise on him, comprised totally of test match shots and absolutely no slogging. Guess what? These are the experts - Moody, Agarkar, KL Rahul, David Warner et al; not the armchair generals pontificating here. To quote an article from CricInfo, "That is the most stunning thing about Pooran. He plays Test match shots and yet he still holds his own in the T20 arena." It would therefore be a tragedy if the West Indies still refuses to include him in the test squad.
