Emotional baggage/ experience invariably defines ones' outlook. I find Muslims to be firmly defined by Islam and the set of 'way of life' principles at their disposal because it is an ongoing commitment.

The emotional baggage/ experience does not define you but it projects you and to that end that is how you are seen despite what is in your consciousness.
