With all that is going on in Giants world regarding their current quarterback situation, Ben McAdoo, of all people, was once a big proponent of the team drafting quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
ESPN’s Anita Marks, at the time of the draft, reported that McAdoo tried to trade up and snag Mahomes.
While adding that McAdoo “loved” the former Texas Tech product and was “very upset” not to snag him.
Mahomes sat behind Alex Smith during his first season in Kansas City but he’s set the league on fire in 2018.
yuh know wat I came to realize last year..that Ben MacAdoo was an absolutely spiffy and smart Head Coach,,and that the Mara family is nuts and open to shitty advice and silly public pressure..not to mention racism
when MacAdoo Benched Eli for Geno Smith all hell broke loose.
Eli was never a great QB but a mounted one. by unknown laws of physics or whatever, Eli used to pull off miracle plays and win. but he had grown older, was immobile and was a drag on the team more often than not.
then the offensive line was not so great and combined with Eli's inability to move he was getting sacked lef' an' right, and had no speed to pull off plays under pressure getting to him. it was clear Eli days were numbered.
so to give the team a chance Mac put in Geno because he could play better than Eli..and he was mobile and could run for his life, or make plays on his moving feet
Mac realized that team he had was not good and began to set things up for its renewal. he knew that Eli had to go soon and began that process of putting in Geno. that was a great move. the offense suddenly played better though the Giants did not win that one game that Geno Started
the New York media, not to mention CBS in particular, went crazy dat a kneegro replaced Eli the skunt king.
the Mara moved firing everybody, even Reece who had brought that very rich family 2 super bowls.
I was sooprized yesterday dat the Giants nearly won the Carolina game. its poetic justice that an impossible field goal beat deh rarse at the lars' minute.
I thought Carolina would pour it on really. but I don't like that Carolina coach anyway. I think he is a skunt and is lucky to have inherited Cam Newton years ago. I suppose when that team is finally in the hands of new owners they will fire his rarse
so if Mac had got Mahomes he would have sat behind Geno for a season then take the job with Geno going to the bench. and the Giants would have been a giant team this year and Eli would have been in retirement not phucking with the team at 38 and pissing everybody off including ODB
Coach Shurmur: Everyone in our division lost last week, but that has no impact on our mindset. We have to go out and win a game...we just have to keep playing. Our guys love to play the game.
