The ICC should look at the medical evidence in the effectiveness of masks in filtering very fine particulate matter. It is not like a gas mask.
My understanding is hazardous smog is likely to affect one's health over long period of exposure and not within a few days or a week. I also accept it might precipitate breathing difficulties in patients who have other respiratory conditions. I do not belive the smog can give rise to vomiting or diarrhoea.
