1st Test, England tour of Australia and New Zealand at Brisbane

Another overcast morning at the Gabba.

This first hour could be a defining one in the series ? Root and Stoneman battling against the Australian barrage. You would be mad to miss it...

In the first innings of Tests Joe Root averages 63.05. In the second innings, he averages 41.57. Only one of his Test centuries has come in the second innings.

Joe Root is on the verge of a half century? England 106/4 Root 49*

GONE! Root is trapped in front shortly after bringing up his half-century. Hazlewood gets the MASSIVE breakthrough. England 5-113

England will be lucky to still be batting at tea. I give them just after tea at best.

Warner and Bancroft march Australia towards victory

David Warner and Cameron Bancroft got Australia over the line with minimal fuss to put the hosts 1-0 up in the Ashes series.

Pity it was not a day to spare ! what a beat dung !
