they took Rawle Brancker in 1966..and he was not good at all.  that was a Bajan pik pure and simple..a Sobers pik because he cud do anything he wanted to do.

Brancker had no future so it made far more sense to carry a youth who had some kind of future.  and that youth at the time wud have been Irving Shillingford from Dominica.

it was a travesty to have taken Brancker before shiilingford who was a  teenage young master at that time..even the young tricky Davis the younger or his older brother Bryan

that was a huge setback for the west indies. 

lil shillingford would have been a great one had he gotten an early start.. as he proved years later against Pakistan at 34 years of age or so

insularity cost the west indies many great players over the years.  right now its costing at least Darren Bravo
