Since when did the Conversation tree become a place for death announcement?

Not a week goes by without the announcement of the death of someone. Is this in any way connected to a serial killer or two on the forum? Can't we make such announcements in a more fitting place?

well I agree on this one.  I am tired of death announcements in these pages.  dat is not wat I am here for..to read those things

I knew don baylor for a very long time. he was a terrific slugger in baseball. I doan have to read he ded to know his story.  he cud have ded and gorn and not affect me at all if I did not know

Don Edward Baylor was born on June 28, 1949, in the Clarksville section of Austin, Texas. His father, George Baylor, worked as a baggage handler for the Missouri Pacific Railroad for 25 years, and his mother, Lillian, was a pastry cook at a local white high school. Don had two siblings, Doug and Connie, and going to church on Sundays was a must in the Baylor family.

On a related note: I am on popular photographic forum. One of the regulars stopped posting on the 20th of June, and soon people were wondering where he was. A month later we found out that he had a heart attack on the 21st of June and passed away. It took  lot of effort to find out who he was and where he was from. Then people spent time trying to find anyone who was related to him so that we could know what happened to him. The end result was sad, but it was kind of nice to know that enough people cared about a fellow poster who nobody knew in person.
