Her childhood could have been described as a typical one growing up
in the countryside at that time and she quickly developed a liking for helping others.
At a tender age she began Nursing School but due to financial constraints
and the fact that she came from a poor family, she was forced to drop out.
Soon after, she got married and had two children before migrating
to the United States of America..
At the age of 30 she gave birth to her third child, a daughter but tragedy struck when
she underwent a divorce some one year later, escaping a physically abusive marriage
This took a toll on her, not only emotionally but financially as well.
Her ex husband, stripped her of everything leaving her both homeless and penniless
This would be one of two divorces from abusive partners who both left her with nothing
She made her mind up hard; the way all Guyanese do after faced with
continuous difficulties. She became adamant about changing her life.
Her first step in this life changing journey saw her taking the GED and passing !
This was followed by her attending surgical assistant school
and obtaining a job in the operating room, assisting surgeons with various cases.
Her youngest daughter graduated medical school in June ...... 8)
