Toronto is still under a severe thunderstorm watch and the rain has started to fall in parts of the city as commuters start to head home.
Severe thunderstorm warnings have been set up for several other regions in southern Ontario including Halton — Peel, Peterborough — Kawartha Lakes and Waterloo — Wellington.
Also under thunderstorm watch are the City of Hamilton, Dufferin – Innisfil and Kingston — Prince Edward.
Despite the chance of thunderstorms, it’s been a warm day in Toronto with a high of 23 C. But we aren’t out of the woods. Severe thunderstorms may produce strong wind gusts and even large hail. Ouch! Environment Canada suggests staying indoors during the thunderstorm activity due to debris in strong wind gusts.
