Quote:In the current moment, a constituent assembly might, of course, buy time for the government, by functioning as a distraction. Yet without the possibility of lasting mass mobilization, the assembly will almost surely produce an overall political effect that is negative, amounting to a pact among Chavist elites and possibly between those elites and the traditional ones. Perhaps this will be done in the name of the  “peace and stability” that Maduro has turned into his perpetual leitmotif. The other limitation — the elephant in the room — is that the Venezuelan military appears to now directly manage an important part of state power. Though some military representatives will participate in the future constituent assembly, their power has another basis, making the whole thing appear to be even more of a spectacle.

A final comment: the government continues to promote the idea that social representation happens immediately and without friction. Hence eighteen hours after Maduro’s announcement, there appeared magically on television “representatives” of university students, evangelical churches, and indigenous peoples (with their faces painted to avoid any possible confusion), among others. This idea, apart from being ridiculous in itself, has the effect of denying the possibility of an organic and real representation emerging from these very sectors. Effectively it gives the lie to the idea that the constituent assembly is a process. And democracy without process, just like frictionless politics, rings hollow.

in hindsight here is only one person reputed to have been true to King... and he is  Joseph Lowery.  all the rest have been proved by history to have been Kings enemies and Jesse Jackson and he Reverend Billy Skyles or Skiles ..were central to the plot that led to Kings assassination.

those 2 guys were in on, were key to the FBI plot to kill king.  they 'manuvered' King onto the balcony of the Lorraine motel, and got out of the way so the FBI could get a clear shot at King.
there were only Black people in that Motel with king, from the maid who is now known to have been police as well, up to Jackson and Skiles.  and they were all there to supervise Kings death

go back to Marcus Garvey and its the same thing.  from such experience it seems like a law of life that  traitors gather always in the vest of the the great king, to betray and kill him, to make profit for themselves off the rich, who want the king dead for the work of the good king is to lead his  people to truth and development.

that seems to me one great reason why things always stay the same. or quickly return to hell after the people revolutionize hell for a minute.  the minute always ends and hell re-emerges, by the manipulation and betrayal of the people, by the very people who know better, but who climbed onto the revolution as great opportunist always do, but care not for anything save large amounts of money in their pockets

there was and is great suffering but the traitors do not care.  and almost everyone coming forward in a revolutionary surge coalescing around the leadership are opportunists, traitors who will betray the revolution as soon as they find it most profitable and safe to do so

what is the leader..the good king.. to do..can do about this ::confused::
treat it as a law of society that invariably leads the opportunists there to where their best most profitable opportunity is to betray the people.  the good king can be sure that almost all of those around him are traitors and kill them all from time to time..all the while he is carrying through the revolution, deepening it, completing it, which would make the need for such leaders, even the the good king, moot and obsolete
