More English than jam and Jerusalem, but the really very pretty Wormsley is actually the project of an American. John Paul Getty Jr, who became a British citizen, was the son of John Paul Getty – one of the richest men in the world – and his love for cricket was sparked by Mick Jagger. The fruits of his labour are this ground in Buckinghamshire, and it’s one you’ve really got to visit.

HPCA (Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association) Stadium, Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, India.

Some of the backdrops to where cricket pitches are set can be stunning, and I don't think you get that in many other sports. We might be slightly biased as we love cricket, but you don't get many football or baseball stadiums for example being located in the most beautiful parts of the world. Not the teams I follow anyway, and the backdrop tends to be an industrial estate with a few gas cylinders to look at!
