T20 cricket doesn't really give one a good look at a guy's technique.

So are these formats : 2 different animals ??  :-\

For me, T20 and 50 over cricket are two totally different animals, especially when it comes to batting. In 50 over cricket there is still an emphasis on building an innings and rotating the strike. In T20 cricket, batsmen are swinging for the fences right form the first ball. Technical flaws are also hidden in T20 cricket due to the slogfest nature of the game.

I think this is highlighted by the fact, as you point out Ketch, WI won the World T20 but failed to qualify for the Champions Trophy. This is also why T20I matches are usually very competitive and even underdogs such as Afghanistan can beat anyone on the day. It is such a short format of the game that it helps to mitigate the talent and technical deficiencies of the lower ranked sides.

difference...the same players WICB is getting rid of slowly!

WI will soon be number 9 in all formats once the seniors are kicked out!

No, we're going to go up in ODI's. We've leap frogged Pakistan and we will overtake Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Things like the IPL and CPL will rub off on the players. I was listening to Pollard speak after a recent CPL game. He said he keeps informing the domestic players to pay attention to guys like Amla and ABDV and to cherish the opportunity to play alongside them. West Indian cricketers are slowly playing more and more games and the domestic structure is slowly improving. This is having knock-on effects.
