**** England v Sri Lanka at Riverside ****

The fifth time an England No.7 has made 150 in a Test innings..

And the second time this year ...

129.2
Lakmal to Ali, SIX, that previous waft to leg was clearly a sighter! This one is all of the beasting,

a massive wipe over midwicket, legs splayed like a man hedging his bets on a podium,

and that's his 150!  8)  Shot, sir

Declaration !!

498 - 9

England declare at 498/9. Moeen Ali finishes 155 not out.

Back we come for innings No. 2. Dimuth Karunaratne and Kaushal Silva in the middle,

with James Anderson opening proceedings from the Lumley End

Will there be another Follow on ?

Jimmay to Karuna, by golly he's off the mark with a sweetly timed FOUR, thru midwicket !

10 - 1

2.4
Anderson to Karunaratne, bowled round the legs! Confused by the mode of dismissal but Jimmy's

shape has been from leg to off, so it stands to reason that a ball outside leg would hit leg!

Karuna b Anderson 9  (14b 1x4 0x6) SR: 64.28

Jimmy strikes. Karunaratne bowled around his legs. He had a look of disbelief as he walked off the field. 10/1.

32 - 1 after 7 overs

Current partnership  22 runs, 4.2 overs, RR: 5.07 (Silva 8, Mendis 14)

TEA.

Broad to Silva, Very close call. Tucker now seems happy that it's into the fingertips of glove cleanly.

Yes, he is. That's out. Great Glove work by Jonny Bairstow !

Silva c †Bairstow b Broad 13

Juuuuussssttt about carried to Bairstow. Good take. England with the momentum.
