MORE than 1.5 million illegal cellphone calls were jammed in a prison facility over a 99-day period of surveillance by the Ministry of National Security, Attorney General Faris ­Al-­Rawi disclosed in Parliament on ­Friday.

Al-Rawi, contributing to the Strategic Services Agency (Amendment) Bill at the International Waterfront Centre, Port of Spain, said the Government had not only blocked 1,530,535 calls, but had also blocked 126,247 prison text messages in one out of eight ­detention centres.
