That reminds me of a funny Gavaskar story. In a series vs WI, Gavaskar pushes himself down the order to 4 or 5. Hilariously, the Indian top order quickly fails and Gavaskar has to go out to bat. Viv Richards goes up to Gavaskar and says, "Man, no matter where you come to bat, the score still zero!"

Gavaskar makes a century and keeps the West Indies standing in the sun for about 10 hours.
