Quote:Usman Khawaja has been left on the sidelines for Australia’s opening ODI against New Zealand.

The in-form batsman joined the squad following Aaron Finch’s hamstring injury but selectors have stuck with Shaun Marsh as David Warner’s partner at the top of the order for Wednesday’s clash in Auckland.

...

Josh Hazlewood, who hasn’t played since 12 January, returns to spearhead Australia’s attack.

“We’ve got quite an inexperienced bowling attack. We’ve got quite a few guys that are out but the guys are learning quite quickly,” Smith said.

Australia: Shaun Marsh, David Warner, Steve Smith (capt), George Bailey, Glenn Maxwell, Mitch Marsh, Matthew Wade, James Faulkner, John Hastings, Kane Richardson, Josh Hazlewood.

Khawaja can feel incredibly hard done by. He has been in some kind of form over the last two months with 5 centuries and 3 fifties in 10 innings.

I will be glued to this one. A day/night ODI between Australia and New Zealand with the added bonus of this being Brendon McCullum's last international series for New Zealand. He is going to get some kind of send off from the Eden Park crowd, and he deserves every bit of it.

I can't quite figure out CA's selection process at the moment.... and neither did I realize that this was BigMac's last international series for NZ

Nepotism?!

or CA's infatuation with the All-Rounder is blinding their vision, why play Maxwell, Faulkner and Mitch Marsh? This is horsesh!t
