OUTRAGEOUS WELFARE TO CUBA

Few investigations into our welfare system have been as devastating as the one recently done by the Sun-Sentinel in South Florida.

In short, American welfare payments are flowing to Cuba. Cuban immigrants are collecting welfare payments, then returning to the Communist island.

Cuban immigrants are given special access to food stamps, disability funds and other welfare because unlike other immigrants, Cubans are presumed to be refugees.

If they are 65 and poor, they qualify at once for Supplemental Social Security Income. Naturally, this is designed to help them build new lives in America.

But that’s not happening.

In fact, the newspaper’s investigation showed that abuse is widespread.

“Fed up Floridians are reporting their neighbors and relatives for accepting governmental aid while shuttling back and forth to the island, selling goods in Cuba and leaving their benefit cards in the U.S. for others to use while they are away,” the Sun-Sentinel reported.

And that’s not all.

The U.S. helpfully deposits welfare checks for up to two years after recipients have moved back to Cuba!

The sense of entitlement is so rampant that some Cubans even complain to their congressional representatives about the difficulty of accessing their U.S. welfare while they’re in Cuba.

Is it any wonder that Miami leads the nation in senior citizens on welfare?

Dude...thanks to America...the lives of many have been enriched. Lots of people are/were saved by the barrel economy. Kids were educated. Business entrepreneurship enhanced. Despair turned into hope, and then success. That is what America has done for a majority of people from all walks of life all over the world.

You have to let fools be...some will readily put a hole in the pot they once fed off when they were hungry, so that others will starve. And then they complain about the people's starvation. That takes special talent. Look around...the examples are numerous.
